Stillwater Chironomid Fly Fishing for Kamloops Trout BC Interior May 2016
Просмотров 28 тыс.8 лет назад
Just your typical fun-filled action packed day on the water fly fishing Chironomids near Kamloops in the Interior of British Columbia. In this video me, my wife and daughter are out targeting Brook Trout as well as Fraser Valley and Pennask Strain Rainbow Trout. My daughter lands her best Brookie 3.5 lbs on the fly rod all on her own and I get into some really scrappy Pennask rainbows up to 7lb...
All that material, no list, no hook size, no bead size. Downright amateurish.
if you need a list who is the amateur lol
💥
Nice one
So cool
White thread and a few markers seems much easier.
Nice
I have to say, I tied some of these in January and then throat sampled these exact mids at 2 different lakes this May. I was so freaking happy to have these in my box...they absolutely slayed. Thanks for this video. 👍
Here’s a trick , yellow thread , red and green felt pens 😊
Great looking, very natural!
That chironomid looks amazing
Thanks for resting and sharing this video! I’ve used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails for a couple of decades - great stuff for finishing a chironomid!
Wow...been tying chironomids lately and this is the most realistic yet simple tie I've found so far on RUclips. Especially like the wing casing touch.
Going to spin up a few tomorrow =) Just learned about sally hansen's when I somehow developed a bad allergic reaction to bone dry. How do you keep the sally hansen's thin though? gets really thick and goopy quite quickly.
Thin with Acetone.
I don't see a website listed?
Looks great
very nice pattern :D i tryed it last season in my rivers in germany and it worked very well! good job at tying but please tighten the knots properly next time xD
Looking good
Do you fish tea coloured lakes with this pattern or does it matter. We have very few clear lakes in Ontario.
Great tie. Thanks for sharing.
You mean shinook?
its actually Chinook... my kid goes by "Shy"
@@KamloopsTrout I’m going to Kamloops in two weeks or so. What bait are you using
@@Thelast3ambender263 fst's but Salmon wont open here until the end of August.
@@KamloopsTrout is there bull trout or dolly varden there?
I ran that exact same set up on this exact lake today, Echo Carbon XL and Redington behemoth
Killer pattern.
I love this pattern .I'm tying up a bunch thanx.
Sweet!
This vid perfectly depicts the frenzy and chaos of chiromomid fishing with multiple rods on an interior lake during the hatch season...I also like how you speeded up the action...love it!!!
Wicked! Wish I knew where this was. Water looks prime for my float tube! I just got into fly tying this year and have spent the past couple of months tying up chironomids. Look forward to trying them out this season.
So awesome. Underwater video would be awesome.
Very nice damsel. What kind of color of the straggle string did you use? with regards and tight lines
Thanks! Post more Mo!
Thanks! Really great
Just finished reading "Trout School". Its really quite amazing to put a face to the legend Mark Hume writes about in his book. Great video!!!
Hi Love the video, love the fly I don’t tie flies, my eyes not too good, could you tell me where I could purchase some from. Cheers.
Hey, nice fly for sure but (always a but) it would be even better with some ingredients included as well eh.
What location is this one?
Hi there From uk do you sell you flies and would you post
Thanks for your video! This fly is great!
FYI: the phrase is tying it off!! not locking it down!!
Looking around at ASB to try to find a thin, somewhat opaque one so I can get the bleed thru effect that you mention. Are the bags you cut up solid silver color or a smoky gray/silver that you can kind of see thru? Do you remember the brand you used?
3:40 the reggae nymph
Great damsel nymph, could you tell me what straggle string do you use?thankyou Fantastic tying
You could use UV Straggle String by Semperfli
really nice looking pattern. Thanks.
Very nice keep up the good work im sittin up at glimpse lake behind my vice right now. Thanks
By far the best, most realistic pattern i have seen to date.Lets try the dragonfly nymph version?Thankyou.
Awesome! Swimming mayflies or Calibatiaes, can't wait ice off, belly boating between ice bergs. Its like Forest Gump, I got to pee. Thanks this series rocks, love the flies and your accent, kinda Mackenzie brothers, take off hozer.
Some great tips on how to make it durable... many thanks!
I bet that double header was fun to get outa the net
I think you could do the body first and then the wind.
Is there a detail somewhere of all the "ingredient" needed to create that fly???
red crystal flash, red utc wire, utc wine holographic tinsel, red micro pin squirrel strips, red anodized entice bead sold by Canadian llama
KamloopsTrout thank you for the fast response. Will order everything and try to reproduce it as best as yours.
Very nice! Tied a few of these tonight, but will have to wait for this crazy cold snap before throwing them. BTW, what kind of UV torch are you using? Thanks a bunch from chilly Alberta!
Thanks, I had Trout Waters in Kelowna send it to me, it's the size and shape of a large felt pen and takes a couple AA batteries. Didn't cost much and works wonderfully but doesn't say a brand on it other than Laserpointer on the shirt clip. I think it cost around 20-25$
I am a banana!
